Easy Thanksgiving Decorating

Easy Thanksgiving Decorating

Hosting a Thanksgiving dinner can be a stressful event. You have to coordinate the menu, organize seating and place settings, clean, decorate, and ensure that nothing goes wrong. Oh and we didn’t even mention serving a perfectly cooked turkey to every guest. Well, the least we can do is help you find an easy way to decorate for the big day!

Easy Thanksgiving Decorating

  • Deep Clean. The very first step to good décor is a deep clean in every public area of your home. Not only should you dust the corners and wipe your baseboards, but remove everything from the countertops. You should not be storing anything on counters, and you’ll need the space for the feast!
  • Entry Touches. The first thing to greet your guests will be your front door, so spruce it up with a fall wreath and doormat. As guests enter your home, consider a framed sign on an entry table or hung on the wall.
  • Kid’s Table. Make the kids table a little more inviting with a paper tablecloth! Place cups of crayons every few feet, and maybe a few sheets of thanksgiving-themed stickers and allow the kids to doodle before, after, and during Thanksgiving dinner. It’s boring!
  • The easiest and most stunning centerpieces are simple and natural. A giant glass bowl, trifle dish or tiered cake stand filled with seasonal pumpkins and gourds from tiny to medium size is cost effective and easy to assemble. Plus you can simply throw it out when dinner is over.
  • A leaf garland is an easy way to bring a festive touch to a wall opposite the dining table, or even over your kitchen island! You can use real leaves with a needle and fishing line, buy felt or foam versions from a craft store, or have your children cut them out and glue them along string.
  • Your home will smell like delicious turkey and hot rolls, but it’s a nice touch to light a candle featuring fall scents. Light it in your entryway, living or family room, or anywhere else the smell of delicious food won’t be as strong.

Don’t let the stress of hosting take away from the joys of celebrating! Decorating for Thanksgiving dinner is an easy step you can take in the week before the holiday to make the dinner more beautiful and the day a little less stressful.
