Inexpensive Spring Decor For Your Home

The definition of spring is more than just a season; it means to move, jump up, or originate or arise from—it also includes a rebirth that provides for plants and new life emerging. If spring is your favorite season and you’re itching to get some spring color into your home, keep reading to see some inexpensive ideas for spring decor.

Inexpensive but Appealing Spring Decor

With most of the economy shuttered, there are not many places you can visit right now. While sheltering-in-place, you can still order things online, go to the grocery store, and the nursery. Here are some inexpensive decorating ideas for spring that will brighten up your home and your spirit.

1. Pick up Supermarket Flower Arrangements.

For an inexpensive and colorful pick-me-up, get a supermarket flower arrangement, and instead of using a traditional vase, cut them and place them in a tall jar or bottle with a yellow or pink ribbon tied around it. Some beautiful spring flowers include tulips, daffodils, crocus, and pansies. If you don’t feel comfortable making an arrangement, throw up a YouTube video tutorial and learn how or buy several bouquets of a few colors and types of flowers. You can’t go wrong here.

2. Group Light Colors.

Choose some yellow, pink, light green, or peach items and group them to create some visual interest on a bookshelf, mantle, or table. You can put in a few flowers or leave them be, for a touch of spring color. When paired with small bowls or little statues on a kitchen or bathroom shelf, it can have a similar effect. Various sized vases or jars in mint or peach placed on a glass shelf in a bedroom or living room provides a pop of color.

3. Make a Terrarium.

Small terrariums are perfect for the beginner green thumb. You can use a large glass bowl, vase, or a fishbowl to easily add some plants or succulents—which don’t need much water to thrive. Start with small, slow-growing plants that tolerate low light and have similar water needs. Best, you can move your terrarium where needed to get the best view or light. You can also make a sand art terrarium in spring colors for a unique look.

4. Put Out Fruit.

With many fruits and vegetables coming back into season, you can place them in a colorful spring bowl and set them on your table or countertop. Lemons, oranges, limes, and bananas, grouped in a bowl, make for a bright display, as well as easy access to snack on. For vegetables, consider putting out some cucumbers, eggplants, and peppers, as well as sweet potatoes, onions, and butternut squash. Showcase them in a purple or yellow bowl for an accent color.

5. Light a Fresh Spring Candle.

Ahhh…the smell of a fruity candle or light floral scent tickles your senses and perks up your day. Gardenia or fig candles are a perfect addition for spring and provide a soothing visual. You can buy these at dollar stores and place them in a colorful votive if they aren’t already in one. Place on a kitchen counter at dinner or in your bedroom at night for a springtime treat.
