There’s just something about fall that leads people into the kitchen for cooking, baking, and enjoying delicious food with those we love.

Now is the perfect time to find and try a few new recipes to delight your family or to wow the crowds at that Halloween party.

Most families have a traditional fall recipe – pull it out and spend some time making it just right! But don’t stop there! Spend some time in your kitchen this fall trying out some incredible new fall recipes that will become instant classics.

Chili

Chili is a pretty standard fall dish, and one that’s perfect for a crisp and cloudy day. Perfect your family’s handed-down chili recipe for a work or neighborhood cook-off. Try a meatless version or one inspired by a secret ingredient, like pumpkin or even chocolate (yes, chocolate infused chili exists!). Experiment with cheese, mix-ins, and other toppings to take your chili to the next level.

Pumpkin Desserts

Pumpkin pie is the signature dessert of fall, and with good reason. But the list of pumpkin desserts goes on and on! Pumpkin chocolate chip cookies are delicious, as are their cousins – pumpkin bread, pumpkin cupcakes, and pumpkin muffins. Get creative by incorporating pumpkin into your favorite desserts like cinnamon rolls, cobblers, ice cream, cheesecake, or hot chocolate.

Loaded Fries

Nothing said tailgate like a pile of hot and salty French fries covered in cheese! Try a new recipe or set of toppings for your next football viewing party or appetizer for a group meal. You can use sweet potato fries, different cheeses, meat, veggies, spices, and anything else that looks good!

Soup

Like chili, a warm bowl of soup is just plain perfect for chilly weather. Soups give you a wide variety of choices and plenty of freedom. Try a spicy tortilla soup, a healthy veggie minestrone, or a classic chicken noodle that will please the entire family. Crock pots can make your job even easier. Add bread bowls for an extra touch of delicious fall taste!

Fresh Fall Salad

You may picture salads as a spring or summer staple, but they are a healthy and delicious option for fall as well. Keep your fall salad interesting by adding seasonal fall fruits and veggies, such as apples, pears, beets, or pomegranates.

Homemade Bread

There is no better smell than fresh bread baking in your kitchen. If you don’t have a go-to bread recipe ask around to find one that is tried-and-true. Now is also a great time to change it up and try a new bread – sourdough, wheat, croissants, herbed or flavored! Serve with a fresh butter, jam, or other spread.

Spend a little time getting comfortable in your kitchen with a new arsenal of fall recipes that your family will LOVE. Be sure to write them down and tuck them into a recipe book for years of delicious fall baking to come!
